5 x 0.8mm HSSE-V3 Yellow Band Roll Form Tap
HSSE-V3 HSSE with 3% Vanadium high performance tap.
Optimised for thread forming in Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys.
When using fluteless (roll form / thread flow) taps no chips are produced.
Formed threads have a smoother surface finish and greater tensile strength under dynamic stress than cut threads.
It is essential to use a high quality lubricating fluid when using fluteless taps.
Materials with a minimum elongation of 5% and a tensile strength no greater than 1,000 M/mm2 are suitable for thread forming.
Fluteless taps use different tapping drill sizes than thread cutting taps!
For machining materials with Hardness < 200 HB : Tensile Strength <700 N/mm2.
