Description
The Mitutoyo 514-170 vernier height gauge has a measurement range of 0 – 1500 mm, and is graduated to 0.02 mm, with + or – 0.18 mm of accuracy.
The scriber, used to mark a position on a workpiece, is 45 mm x 144 mm (H x W), carbide-tipped for hardness and to help prolong life, and is held to the gauge by a screw clamp for secure fastening. The grip-base helps hold the unit in position by hand. An adjustable beam with a ring-type lock nut supports repositioning of the zero reference point for manual change of the base position. The slider and beam are made of hardened stainless steel, with a glare-free satin chrome finish that helps resist rust. The height gauge weighs 57.32 lbs/26.0 kg.
A vernier scale provides precise measurement through a second sliding scale that indicates where measurement lies between marks on the main scale. A calibrated screw mechanism supports fine, uniform slider adjustments.
