12 x 1.75mm HSSE-V3 TiAlN Coated Blue Band Spiral Flute Tap
HSSE-V3 HSSE with 3% Vanadium high performance tap.
TiAlN (Titanium Aluminium Nitride) coating provides higher temperature resistance and improved surface hardness.
Optimised for machining stainless steel
Spiral flute with 40º helix angle.
Designed for tapping blind holes where the right hand spiral forces swarf out of the hole and prevents clogging which may cause breakage or spoiled threads.
Designed to withstand the high stress and high heat associated with CNC production tapping.
The machining of stainless steels is difficult due to its work hardening properties, toughness and poor thermal conductivity, which places high demands on the cutting tools.
TiAlN coating increases tool surface hardness to 87Rc.
For machining materials with Hardness < 350 HB : Tensile Strength <1250 N/mm2.
