Description

ALLOYQUENCH 1921 was developed for quenching a wide range of steels from low alloy constructional steel to high alloy tool and die steels. The cooling rate for ALLOYQUENCH 1921 has been designed to ensure maximum hardness with minimum distortion. ALLOYQUENCH 1921 is suitable for use with most types of furnaces, and is particularly suited for bright quenching from vacuum furnaces.

ALLOYQUENCH 1921 is manufactured from premium grades of solvent refined paraffinic mineral oils together with a unique additive package, which ensures that the quenchant has consistent quenching characteristics over a long service life. This combination of premium base oils and additives results in brighter quenched components, which are easier to clean.

The ideal cooling characteristics of ALLOYQUENCH 1921 are best illustrated on the IVF Quench test graph, a maximum cooling rate around 500ºC and a minimum cooling rate through the martensitic transformation temperature range.
