1/4″ x 20 BSW 13/16″ HSS Button Die – Goliath
HSS Circular Split Button Die HSS Button Dies (also known as Adjustable Dies) are designed for cutting external threads.
They are used for threading rods, bolts, and studs, either by hand using a die stock, or by machine using a floating die holder.
They also can be used to cut smaller or larger, than factory setting, by utilising the adjusting screws in the die holder.
Dies are manufactured with a thread chamfer to aid starting.
M2-HSS material provides increased wear resistance and superior thread accuracy.
British Standard Whitworth angle of thread is 55 degrees as opposed to 60 degrees in Metric and Unified threads.
This thread form was developed by Sir Joseph Whitworth in 1841.
The thread form has rounded roots and crests and is specified in BS84:1956.
