10 x 1.5mm STI Pilot Nose HSS Tap
Metric Fine Pilot Nose.
HSS Pilot Nose Taps use the existing thread as a guide (pilot) when tapping a new female thread.
Commonly used when repairing spark plug threads.
PowerCoil wire thread inserts are installed into oversize tapped holes.
Only PowerCoil STI (Screw Thread Insert) Taps are suitable for use with PowerCoil Wire Thread Inserts.
STI Taps have a larger diameter, than standard taps, but the same pitch to accommodate the wire thread insert. Once the insert is installed in the tapped hole it creates the desired internal thread tolerance for the installed bolt or stud.
