Carbide Spotting Drills are ideal to start drilled holes, as they give a nice 90° starter hole . This can be utilised on round shaft, odd starting angles & shapes, more accuraccy & precision holes. etc where a drill would normally run off. Works much the same as a centredrill , however the tip is not require for a live centre
ie; lathe applications use a centre drill only.
Carbide will serve for very long life & drill harder materials easily.
